I really liked the ambience here. Came here with a good friend who is very familiar with this type of cuisine.l so I knew they would have high standards! This place was great! It had a modern vibe with some nice energy. The service was quite good and attentive and the staff was very friendly and pleasant without being too intrusive. I thought the robot that served the meat was pretty cute too. The food was delicious. I always like hot pot but this is my first time having it at a restaurant instead of homemade with my friends. It was delicious! I liked that there were so many options to add to the pot. I also liked the various soup bases. Definitely wouldn't mind trying this spot again.

Haidilao is a chain, upscale hot pot location and one of the few places open quite late on the Eastside (until 2AM on weekends!). I went on a Saturday night around 10PM and with a quick call 30 minutes ahead for a group of 10+, we didn't have to wait when we arrived. There is a shared parking garage with validated parking, which is always plus as well. The quality of everything is pretty solid, but the price is also quite high. However, if you go after 9:30 PM, you can get platters of meat for two to three dollars a serving, which is super solid. My go-to would definitely be the beef short plate and for the soup bases, I like the original with all the Chinese herbs. I also tried the tomato base with spice and beware because they do not play with the spice at all; there ended up being zero tomato flavor. Even with the 'happy hour' deal, it ended up being $25 a person and most of my party didn't eat too much, so definitely expect to spend. The complimentary snacks are fun and they have definitely the most extensive sauce bar I've seen. Fruit and side options let me down a bit, but they were free, so I can't complain too much.

My favorite hotpot place in the area! It's not the cheapest but it's totally worth it--it's a whole experience. Excellent Service - I arrived before the rest of my party. The host was attentive; he checked in with me a couple times and made sure a table would be ready by the time they arrived. - Snack and drink station by the entrance while you wait. I noticed the hosts refilling this several times. This is great to keep you from getting hangry from a potentially long wait. - Server was very attentive as well. Waters and broths were constantly refilled. Our orders arrived promptly. Delicious Food - Got split pot with tomato and Tom yum broths this time, which were really tasty and flavorful. I usually get the pork and chicken broth and a spicier broth, which are also delicious. A good soup base is essential for hotpot, and I haven't had a bad one here. - Good quality, fresh proteins and veggies - Sauce bar has the usual sauce ingredients so you can make your own dipping sauce. Definitely get the sesame paste! - Sauce bar also includes various sides and desserts, including pig ear, freshly cut fruits, and white fungus soup. The last two times I was here, they also had 豆花/豆腐花 and I enjoyed it both times, but they didn't have it this time. Not sure if they discontinued it or just didn't have it that day. Fun Entertainment - They'll sing for your birthday - They have random performances that you can enjoy while you eat - There's also a noodle you can order, with which an experienced server will come by your table to do the noodle dance before putting it in the broth for you. Parking is available in the building, 3 hours free with validation I recommend making a reservation or joining the waitlist ahead of time, as it can get quite busy on a Saturday night.

4.5 Stars - I had a great experience here :) Loved the little touches like the complimentary snacks and ice cream. The variety of items available are awesome. The robot waiter is adorable. I can see how it can get really pricey, but the lunch special ($19.99) they have right now is really great value-wise (Comes with a protein, a starch, and a plate of veggies/tofu/extras). Sauce bar has dessert too :) Service is so incredible attentive and polite.
